The grounds KRAFTON relies on
KRAFTON's Rules of Conduct for PUBG: Battlegrounds (checked on 26 October 2026) contain a penalty table that assigns a maximum penalty to each kind of misconduct. Using, developing, trading or distributing unauthorised programs and hardware devices, modifying the game client or game data, teaming, stalking and attempting cash transactions all carry a permanent ban as the maximum. Inappropriate language, inappropriate names and abnormal gameplay, by contrast, carry a maximum of a 30-day ban, and KRAFTON may additionally block a hardware device on which misconduct was found from running the game.
The ground matters for the appeal. A cheating ban turns on the software and devices that ran with the game, a conduct ban on the match or chat in question, and a ban after an account takeover on who had access to the account. On consoles, the PUBG anti-cheat team announced in a developer letter of 25 June 2026 that accounts confirmed to use input converters such as Cronus or XIM will receive permanent bans instead of temporary ones. It shall be noted that PUBG support does not disclose the exact reason for a ban, citing security, so the appeal has to work from the ban message and its date.
Where the appeal goes
Requests go to PUBG support, whose help centre offers a Ban category for each platform, with separate help centres for Xbox, PlayStation and Epic Games accounts. A VAC ban, however, is issued by Steam alone, as PUBG support itself states, and PUBG Mobile is a separate game with its own support; neither of them is reviewed through this channel.
The limits of the channel are set out in PUBG support's article on bans, according to which restrictions are not lifted, and their period is not reduced, because a player contacts support several times. Its other articles add that no retests or rechecks of restrictions are offered and that the account holder remains responsible even for cheating by another person. However, the Rules of Conduct grant a player who has been treated unfairly the right to appeal through legitimate procedures. Thus, a single and complete request is the appropriate course.
What the appeal should contain
The request should state the account name, the platform and the linked store account, the date and wording of the ban message, and the ground that the message or a support reply names. Thereafter, it should list the software that ran alongside the game and every mouse, keyboard, controller or adapter connected to the PC or console, since the Rules of Conduct cover hardware devices as well as programs. PUBG support itself asks for the maker and model of the keyboard and mouse when the game closes after detecting an unauthorised device.
Where the account had been taken over, the appeal should document the takeover with login notifications, password-reset emails, a recovery ticket with the platform and the date on which the player regained control. The same developer letter ties the number of unbans after account theft to a secondary password: one unban per half-year, up to twice per year, for accounts with such a password, and one per lifetime for accounts without. Where the player did break a rule, the appeal should say so plainly, because a denial that the evidence contradicts will hardly change the decision.
After the decision
A permanent ban that PUBG support confirms after a request is, in general, final. A second request makes sense only with new facts, for example a recovery ticket that did not exist before, since repeated contacts neither lift nor shorten a restriction under support's own statement.
Creating or using another account to keep playing may itself breach the Rules of Conduct, which allow KRAFTON to ban all accounts created on a device or associated with an IP address used for misconduct, even if they are accessed on another PC or console. Accordingly, this guide does not describe ways around a ban.
Current enforcement
Reports of current enforcement waves are recorded on the PUBG ban-wave monitor. The PUBG appeal page sets out the steps in short form. In September 2026, Game Ban Appeal prepared an appeal for a PUBG account; the decision on the ban remained with KRAFTON.
Frequently asked questions
Can a PUBG ban be appealed?
Yes, a request can be filed in the Ban category of PUBG support, and the Rules of Conduct grant a right to appeal through legitimate procedures. PUBG support states, however, that it does not unban accounts where a violation is evidenced.
Is a PUBG cheating ban permanent?
The penalty table in the Rules of Conduct sets a permanent ban as the maximum penalty for using unauthorised programs or hardware devices. The table also allows KRAFTON to impose a more or less severe penalty, depending on the seriousness of the misconduct.
Is a VAC ban the same as a PUBG ban?
No. PUBG support states that VAC bans are given out only by Steam and not by PUBG. A VAC ban is therefore a matter for Steam, whereas a ban set by KRAFTON goes to PUBG support.
